How it works

Questions

Where are my videos stored?

On your iPhone, in the app's own storage. The app has no servers and makes no network requests at all. Nothing is uploaded, and nobody but you can see any of it.

Is there a subscription?

No. One Second Days is a single purchase with no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.

Can I record more than one second?

Yes — hold the shutter instead of tapping it. Past three seconds the ring turns to embers to show you're on borrowed time, and it stops itself at five.

What if I already recorded today and want to redo it?

Open the recorder again and capture a new one. The app will ask before replacing the second you already saved, and your note and mood for that day are carried over so you don't lose what you wrote.

What happens if I delete a memory?

The app asks first, then removes both the entry and its video file from the device. That one is deliberate and permanent — nothing else in the app ever deletes a clip.

Are my videos backed up?

The app doesn't sync to iCloud, but its storage is included in your normal iPhone backup if you have backups enabled. If your days matter to you, keep iPhone backups on.

Does it work on iPad?

It runs, but the layout is designed for iPhone.

Why does it want the microphone?

So a moment keeps its voices. You can decline it and the app will still record video.
