Privacy Policy

One Second Days ("the app," "we," "us") is a private video journal. It was built so that the most personal thing a person can keep — a record of their own days — never leaves the device it was recorded on. We do not run servers, we do not use analytics or advertising, and there is no account to create. This policy explains exactly what the app handles.

Data we collect

We collect nothing. The app has no backend, and it makes no network requests of any kind. Everything it creates stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone:

• Your video clips — the one second (or up to five, if you hold the shutter) you record each day, saved as ordinary video files on the device.
• Still frames generated from those clips, so the timeline and year grid can draw quickly.
• Notes and moods you optionally attach to a day, plus favourites and dates, stored in a local database on the device.
• Preferences — reminder time, which way the camera opens, and whether you've seen the intro.

None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.

Device permissions

• Camera — used only while you are recording, to capture your daily second. The viewfinder on the home screen is live only when the app is open and in the foreground.
• Microphone — records the sound alongside your clip, so a moment keeps its voices. Decline it and the app still records video.
• Notifications (optional) — one gentle daily reminder at a time you choose. These are scheduled locally on your device; no push server is involved and nothing is sent to us.
• Photos — the app never reads your photo library. The permission exists only so that you can choose "Save Video" when sharing one of your own clips through the iOS share sheet.

Sharing

Sharing is always something you start. When you tap Share on a memory or a rendered movie, iOS presents its own share sheet and the file goes wherever you send it — Messages, Photos, AirDrop, or another app of your choosing. At that point the destination's own privacy policy applies. We are not involved in, and have no visibility into, anything you share.

Backups

Your clips live in the app's container on the device. If you have iPhone backups enabled, that container may be included in your iCloud or Finder backup, exactly like the data of any other app. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The app itself does not sync to iCloud and does not copy your data anywhere.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no links out to other services, and no user-generated content from anyone but you.

Your control over your data

• Deleting a memory in the app removes both its database entry and its video file from the device.
• Deleting the app removes everything it ever stored, permanently.
• Camera, microphone and notification permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
• Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to hand back, correct, or erase on request — you already hold all of it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
