How it works

Questions

Is there a subscription?

No. It's a single $0.99 purchase with no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.

Does the AI critic need an account or an API key?

No. Bito runs on-device out of the box and works with no key, no account and no internet. If you'd rather have sharper commentary, Settings lets you paste your own OpenAI key — that's entirely optional, and it's the only situation in which a photo ever leaves your phone.

Where are my entries stored?

On your device, and — if you're signed in to iCloud — in your own private iCloud account, so they follow your Apple ID to a new phone. There is no server of ours in the middle, and nobody but you can see any of it.

Why does it ask for my location?

Only to put nearby restaurants at the top of the place search. Decline it and search still works — you just type the name instead.

Can I edit or delete an entry?

Yes. Open any entry, then use the menu in the top corner to edit the decision, name and place, or to delete it outright.

My streak reset — why?

A streak counts consecutive days with at least one entry. Miss a full day and it starts again. Your total XP, level and achievements are never taken away.

Does it work on iPad?

It runs, but the layout is designed for iPhone.
